The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts of the 1st Fenstanton & Hilton Scout Group will be raising much-needed funds at their annual Big Breakfast in Fenstanton.
Full English breakfasts, bacon rolls, hot drinks and squash will all be available from 7.30am to 11.00am on Saturday 7th June 2008.
The Scouts will be cooking whilst the Beavers and Cubs will be there serving and doing the washing up, all with just a little help from the adults who support the Group.
So if you like the idea of dining "al-fresco" but leaving the washing up to someone else then follow the delicious smell of bacon cooking and take your friends and family along to the Clock Tower on Fenstanton High Street.
Even if you don’t fancy breakfast there will be a cake stall and tombola. Funds raised will go towards supporting the activities of the Group, which has 80 boys and girls aged 6 to 14.
Who knows what our current Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will become in adulthood, but through Scouting we hope to give them the courage and the ability to find out. Through Scouting they learn new skills, work as a team and overcome fears. We help to teach them that making a decision is never the difficult bit - it's learning to live with the consequences (as any Scout who has burnt their breakfast will tell you!!!!!).
Through the adventure of Scouting young people get to take risks in a safe environment, and have their first taste of responsibility.
The Group are currently looking for volunteers with a sense of adventure, aged 18 or over, to help with Cubs and Scouts. Big Breakfast is an ideal opportunity for any adults interested in finding out more, simply come and have an informal chat with one of our leaders to see how you could help or visit www.scubes.co.uk
