Posted: 02/04/2020

Good Evening, Fenstanton District Members

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, covering the period 24th to 31st March. One positive result of the current situation is that maybe, there is less crime to mention in these reports…

Pitfield Close Police received reports of anti-social behaviour by teenagers near the play area on Pitfield Close on Wednesday afternoon, 25th March, all of whom were ignoring the social-distancing regulations:

A suspicious car was seen parked up near the play park and a strong herbal smell was reported to be coming from inside. However the car drove off before police could respond to the call. (Ref CC-25032020-0218)

A dirt-bike was reported being ridden up and down a track adjacent to farmland near the playing field by a group of five or six teenagers without helmets. The group were then seen throwing rubbish around the park. (Ref CC-25032020-0265)

Tape put up to close off the play area was reported to have been pulled down by a group teenagers, one of whom was verbally abusive towards a member of the public. The group was then reported to be drinking alcohol and smoking. (Ref CC-25032020-0280)

In response to the reports, a police patrol was dispatched and officers found a group of young people at the playing field, all of whom ran off when approached. However, officers disposed of some alcohol that they had left behind and ensured that the tape and park-closure notices were still in place.
