UPGRADE OF CHEQUER STREET PLAY AREA

FENSTANTON PARISH COUNCIL - UPGRADE OF CHEQUER STREET PLAY AREA

As has previously been announced in Spectrum, following requests from various parents, the play area was scheduled for an upgrade to allow its use by younger children.

Following a generous grant from The Mick George Community Fund, your Parish Council is now in a position to carry the work out. This will commence on Monday 10 December and should be completed by Friday 14 December. Disruption will be kept to an absolute minimum and should not have any effect on Chequer Street itself.

Hopefully, once completed, it will give parents and young children the opportunity to enjoy the play area more - especially with the inclusion of the new “Me and You” swing seat – please see overleaf for a rough outline of the proposed additions.

All earth removed for these new installations will be placed between the two pipes so that it will be possible to create a ‘hill’ over the pipes for the children to play on and climb through.

It is also hoped that, in the not too distant future, we will be in a position to carry out additional work on the wooden play structure to prolong its useful life and make it more pleasing to the eye.
