"Chil" - Dave Pinnington is the new Assistant Cub Scout Leader

Dave Pinnington is Assistant Cub Scout Leader for the 1st Fenstanton and Hilton Scout Group and, following Cub traditions, is known as Chil from the Jungle Book by the Cub Scouts.

Dave lives in Fenstanton with his wife and 2 children - Jack aged 8 (a Cub Scout) and Rebecca aged 11 (a Scout). As well as working full time and devoting many hours to Scouting Dave is also a School Governor.

This is his 5th time taking part in the Great North Run on Sept 18th but his 1st whilst involved in Scouting so he has offered to raise funds for the Scout Group by being sponsored. If you would like to sponsor him for such a worthwhile cause please contact Louise Clover on 01480 831715.

He trains at either 6.30 am or 8.00pm and can be seen running around the local villages as he does so. On the day he will be wearing the Group black polo shirt with gold logo and number 40462 so if you are there or watching on TV please give him an extra cheer as he goes by.

BBC will be providing coverage of the race from 10am that day, although as Dave admits he's not quite (!) in the elite class so will be setting off a bit later :-)

The Scout Group has over 70 children from local villages, aged 6 to 14, who meet every week term time only. The money raised will be spent on supporting the activities carried out with the children.
