Fenstanton get off to winning start

Fenstanton FC started their league campaign last night [ 17th August ] with a 6-0 win over Longstanton.

The newly promoted team took the lead early in the 1st half after the Longstanton keeper dro pped Adam Berrill’s free kick into the back of the net. Dale Edwards extended the lead to 2-0 just before half time.

The 2nd half saw Fenstanton pressuring the Longstanton defence again. Salv Merola netted twice with 2 superb efforts before Adam Berrill got his 2nd with a powerful shot from outside the box.

Captain Daniel Edwards completed the rout with a looping header that sailed into the top of the goal after a corner kick. New signings Daniel Attfield and Ollie Barnard made their debuts for Fenstanton with excellent performances also.
