FENSTANTON is a parish and village 2 miles from St. Ives, in the hundred of Toseland, union of St. Ives, county court district of Huntingdon, diocese of Ely, archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and rural deanery of St. Ives. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. The living is a vicarage, annual value £240, with residence, in the gift of the Master and Fellows of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. The Baptists and Congregationalists have each a chapel. There is a day school; Robert Wilson, master. The acreage is 2,404, of which the chief owners are Messrs. T. Coote, W. Ingle, G. Emery, and Mrs. Langley. The lord of the manor is John L. Ffytche, Esq. The population is about 1,074. The nearest money order, telegraph office, and post town is St. Ives.
